Mission Statement
Our aim is to make coastal rowing available to all ages (8ys+) and all abilities and to provide safe, fun access to the Solent and beyond.
We deliver a progressive ‘LEARN’ coaching programme using a range of stable, single sculls appropriate for relaxed skill development.
We offer a coastal EXPLORE programme for both novice and seasoned rowers to access our incredible rich coastline.
We are proud to provide an opportunity for you to experience Coastal Rowing so you are well prepared, should you wish, to join your local club or maybe even buy your own scull.
Rowing Adventures Ltd is based at Lymington Amateur Rowing Club and is also mobile, so locations can be varied in accordance with risk assessment/ weather conditions and water access points.
With the Glide Solo and the progressive Glide Tide, we have sourced single sculls that are robust and stable with intuitive response. These boats encourage a relaxed and positive experience, so vital particularly when learning something new or wanting to relax and Explore in varied conditions.
Our programme aims to be wholly inclusive and we welcome queries/feedback to ensure that this is delivered.
The Learn, Explore and Compete programme is designed to be progressive and encourages appropriate and safe challenge within each thread.
The coaching delivery is adapted from the British Rowing Level 2 Club Coach Course and British Rowing Omnium Skills to suit Coastal Rowing and it’s nuances; tidal conditions and marine traffic.
The majority of coaching is delivered from a scull (both single and double), sometimes from a rib and the intro for some sessions may start out on land.
The choice of boats allows us to service Mini Rowing from 8yrs+ so sessions can include Primary School, upwards.
We aim to develop a ‘regatta-in-a box’ series of ‘omnium’ style events to offer a competitive challenge, this will prepare scullers for the transition into competitive rowing at their local club in both single and crew boats.
We aim to capture your experiences using photo and video and maybe, drone aerial footage, should you wish.
